About Us

The West Chester Coin Club is celebrating our 46th year. Founded in 1962, the West Chester Coin Club makes it's home in the beautiful rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania. We have always held our meetings and events in and around West Chester, the county seat.

The club holds monthly meetings consisting of a business report, followed by an educational program by some excellent speakers, most with exhibits or slide programs. Following the educational program, we take a coffee break. There is always the camaraderie and socializing between members during the coffee breaks. Sometimes I think there's more information exchanged over a steaming cup of coffee than during the rest of the meeting. The meeting concludes with an auction, where members submit coins to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The club holds an Annual Coin Show with up to forty dealers buying and selling coins and collectibles. The club also holds an Annual Banquet for members and their guests where you can enjoy a meal fit for a king at "fast food" prices. Then there's a Christmas Party & Donor Auction in December where you can share a piece of the traditional holiday cake and a hot cup coffee with the other members. The donor auction provides a multitude of great coins and all types of related material that go for some real bargain prices!

Whether your just starting out as a coin collector, an advanced numismatist, or just interested in saving the five Commemorative State Quarters issued every year, the West Chester Coin Club has something to offer. As a member, there is no obligation to attend a minimum number of meetings. Just attend one meeting to submit your application and one meeting at which your application will be reviewed and voted upon. There's no pressure to renew your membership after the first year if you don't enjoy the club and find it both educational and interesting. Of course we hope that you will find the time and be interested enough to become a dedicated member. But we think that with all the interesting educational programs that are presented monthly, and our popular monthly auctions, you won't want to miss even one meeting. You'll also receive our monthly newsletter COIN CLIPS to keep you informed of events and future programs.

For more information you can send questions by mail to the address below, or for a faster response, click on Contact Us (from the menu at the left) and send us an email. Better yet, stop in the West Chester Municipal Building on Gay & Adams Streets in West Chester on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 PM and join the fun. Looking forward to seeing you.

PS - If you have friends interested in coins, bring them along. On second thought, bring them along even if at first they aren't interested. They may discover the whole new exciting world of coin collecting! And I almost forgot, the first year of membership for students is FREE! After that it's only half price as long as they're a student, all the way through high school. Why not try a membership in the West Chester Coin Club for a year? You only have everything to gain!
